Here are the most important 5 things you need to know about vitamin B7 in your own body:
1. Biotin Benefits Hair Growth
If you be bothered by a biotin shortage, you could deal with loss of hair or simply dry and damaged hair. Despite the fact that your body only needs a small amount of vitamin B7, you still need it!
2. Vitamin B7 Will Help Your Nails Grow
Biotin can turn terrible looking nails into healthy, growing beauties. There are certainly a ton of supplements out there for your fingernails and we would be willing to bet that each one contains vitamin B7.
Trouble is, vitamin B7 can not be absorbed through fingernails (or even your skin as we’ll touch on in a minute). Biotin comes from within your body, which of course the body gets from food you consume.
3. Vitamin B7 Only Comes From the Inside
So many items claim to be able to increase your biotin volumes through absorption. That is total rubbish! Several scientists have come to recognize that vitamin B7 molecules are too large to be absorbed via the skin, your hair or nails. Biotin shampoo is garbage. Biotin nail polishes are rubbish. Biotin lotions are garbage.
You must get our biotin through good eating habits. Unfortunately, you cannot simply rub some cream on your scalp and get gorgeous locks that even movie stars would only dream of.
4. Biotin Ups Metabolism
Vitamin B7 aids in keeping your body’s metabolism levels up. Biotin helps a small amount, but every little bit helps, doesn’t it?
Keeping your biotin levels right where they should be is important not only for your hair and nails, but also supports a healthy metabolism. Greater metabolism rates mean you burn through your eats faster, which gives you more energy.
5. Vitamin B7 is Inexpensive!
You read right. Biotin does not need to come in expensive pill bottles. Because you can get biotin from some easy to find foods you do not need to spend lots of money stockpiling pills. Save that cash and spend it on something you’d enjoy
What kind of foods are we talking?
Leafy greens, dairy products, meats like steak and chicken, and veggies – it’s that easy.
Top Five Benefits of Vitamin B6:
4. To prevent the occurrence of hemorrhage in babies, vitamin K is injected into the body. The practice has been abandoned due to concerns that it could lead to asthma in babies. Oral drops are used instead.
5. The discovery of vitamin K-dependent proteins in bone has led to research of the role played by vitamin K in maintaining bone health. Epidemiological studies (a statistical study on human populations that tries to link human health effects to a specific cause) have demonstrated a definite relationship between vitamin K and age-related bone loss. Such bone loss is called osteoporosis. The key symptom of osteoporosis is the reduction of bone density. After a certain age, bone building starts waning. In women, significant levels of bone loss occurs after menopause
The top five health benefits of vitamin B1 are:
Vitamin E is the generic name for “tocopherol” and is available in four different forms. It is a fat soluble antioxidant, which can be obtained only as a food supplement. The most widely known health benefits of vitamin E are protection against toxins such as air pollution, premenstrual syndrome, eye disorders such as cataracts, neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.
The health benefits of vitamin E come from its antioxidant properties. Antioxidants remove free radicals — the unstable compounds that damage the cell structure. Immunity levels improve when vitamin E is consumed. Another important benefit of vitamin E is that it reduces cholesterol and the risk of developing cancer.
Vitamin E thins the blood which is another significant health benefit. In other words, it prevents the blood platelets from clumping. High levels of vitamin E reduce the risk of sunstroke and coronary artery disorder or heart disease.
Another widely known health benefit of vitamin E is in skin care and hair care. Owing to its antioxidant properties, vitamin E promotes the circulation of blood to the scalp. Vitamin E helps alleviate fatigue and strengthen capillary walls while nourishing the cells.
Pure vitamin E oil is extremely versatile. A major benefit of vitamin E oil for the skin is that it helps the healing process. As vitamin E is absorbed by the epidermis layer of the skin, it can be used for treating sunburn or protecting you from the sun.
Another wonderful benefit of vitamin E oil is that it can be used to treat scars, acne, and wrinkles because it speeds up cell regeneration. This creates an anti-aging effect, which makes the skin look younger.
Vitamin E oil benefits the skin by helping it retain its natural moisture content. Vitamin E oil makes dull-looking, dry skin look healthier and fresher. You can apply a few drops of vitamin E oil to your nails and cuticles which is an effective way of treating the skin.
After it was officially presented to the public in a premiere during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, a couple of weeks ago, the Aston Martin Rapide S is entering our news once again, this time with the carmaker launching it to Spain. The luxurious car is getting a new front grille, a rear lip spoiler and some other tweaks and it can be ordered with the optional Carbon Exterior Package, adding the carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, exterior mirror housings and more.
The Aston Martin Rapide S is powered by a 5.9 liter V12 engine which is producing a total output of 558 HP (410 kW) and it has a peak torque of 620 Nm (457 lb-ft)), 81 HP (59 kW) and 20 Nm of torque more than the standard version. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster, and it can reach a top speed of 305.7 km/h (190 mph). Fuel consumption Fuel consumption stands at 14.1 L / 100 km (19.9 mpg UK / 16.5 mpg US) and CO2 emissions have dropped from 355 g/km to 332 g/km.
Chevy chose the Geneva Auto Show for the world debut of its newest sports car, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. The automaker resurrected the Stingray moniker for the seventh-generation, or C7, model when the 2014 Corvette Coupe made its debut earlier this year at Detroit. But it was in Europe that an international crowd got its first look at the latest ragtop ‘Vette.
The new convertible Corvette was designed and engineered simultaneously with the coupe. That allowed Chevy to create a convertible that doesn’t suffer from the same weight penalties that often burden open sports cars developed from existing coupes. The automaker says no additional structural bracing is necessary in the Stingray Convertible. The only changes from the coupe are different seat belt anchor points and adjustments necessary to house the folding fabric roof.
Without providing specific weight specifications, Chevy noted that the new Corvette Stingray Convertible boasts almost the same power-to-weight ratio as the coupe version. It’s powered by the same 450-hp 6.2-liter V8, so it stands to reason that the convertible isn’t too much heavier than the coupe.
Chevy relies on a long list of high-tech, low-weight materials to achieve lightness. An aluminum frame replaces the C6′s steel frame and improves rigidity too. A carbon fiber hood and composite fenders, doors and rear quarter panels also keep weight down, as do magnesium frames for the Corvette Convertible’s seats.
The power-operated soft-top features 3-layer construction and includes a glass rear window to reduce noise and improve passenger comfort. The top can be lowered using a button on the key fob. While driving, it can be lowered or raised at speeds up to 30 mph.
The convertible Corvette hasn’t always come second to the coupe. In fact, the first-generation Corvette, which was built from 1953 until 1962, was exclusively a soft-top car. It wasn’t until the famous split-window 1963 model debuted that Chevy even offered a closed-roof version of its celebrated sports car. But now, Corvette lovers expect one of each. And with this latest debut of the Stingray Convertible, Chevy delivers.
What it means to you: Bringing back the Stingray name, the seventh-generation Corvette is joined by the soft-top 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Chevy hasn’t announced pricing yet, but details are coming; the new ‘Vette arrives in showrooms later this year.
Acaí berries come from a palm tree in South America. While a traditional food there for centuries as well as a treatment for diarrhea, acaí has recently become popular in the U.S. because of its supposed health benefits.
Acaí berries contain a number of substances that could boost health. For one, acaí berries seem to have very high levels of antioxidants — comparable to cranberries, but higher than blueberries, strawberries, and other fruits. In lab studies, antioxidants appear to protect cells from damage that can lead to diseases like cancer, in addition to possibly directly inhibiting the growth of some types of cancer. Substances in acaí berries may reduce inflammation and could possibly slow the spread of cancer cells. Also, some lab studies of acaí extracts led to positive effects on blood vessels that could be useful for many different medical conditions.
Acaí berries also contain healthy fatty acids, such as oleic acid, one of the same oils found in olive oil.
However, the potential benefits of acaí are based on preliminary lab studies. So far, we don’t know the extent of acaí’s possible health benefits in people.
Acaí has been sold as a dietary supplement for conditions like high cholesterol, heart problems, allergies, and cancer. These uses of acaí are unproven.
While acaí is an unproven treatment, it has a long history of use in traditional medicine, which offers an appropriate guide to some of its uses.
Acaí fruit is a common food in some areas of South America. In the U.S., it’s available in some health food stores and supermarkets. Acaí is also an ingredient in some juices, drinks, liquors, jellies, ice creams, and other foods. It’s also used as a natural food coloring.
When acaí berries are eaten as food, they appear safe. But given the lack of evidence about the safety of acaí supplements, they are not recommended for children or for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You probably already know the three surest ways to ensure youthful skin: Protect your skin from the sun, don’t smoke, and eat a healthy diet.
In addition, a variety of vitamins and antioxidants may also improve the health and quality of your skin. Here are a few of the most effective ones:
Research has found that vitamins C and E, as well as selenium, can help protect the skin against sun damage and skin cancer. And they may actually reverse some of the discoloration and wrinkles associated with aging. These antioxidants work by speeding up the skin’s natural repair systems and by directly inhibiting further damage, says Karen E. Burke, MD, PhD, of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s department of dermatology.
Burke recommends taking supplements containing 1,000 to 3,000 milligrams of vitamin C, 400 international units of vitamin E (in the D-alpha-tocopherol form), and 100-200 micrograms of selenium (l-selenomethionine) to gain the most benefit. (Don’t give selenium to children until they have all of their adult teeth because it can interfere with the proper formation of tooth enamel.)
Coenzyme Q10 is a natural antioxidant in the body that helps the cells grow and protects them from the ravages of cancer. A drop in natural levels of coenzyme Q10 that occurs in our later years is thought to contribute to aging skin. A study published in the journal Biofactors found that applying coenzyme Q10 to the skin helped minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Most studies conducted so far have used a 0.3% concentration of it.
This antioxidant, when applied topically as a cream, may help protect the skin from sun damage. Studies have looked at creams with 3%-5% concentration, applied every other day and building up slowly to once daily, and found some improvement in sun-induced changes in the skin.
Retinoic acid is the active form of vitamin A in the skin and the “gold standard” in anti-aging skin care, according to Burke. Topical retinoic acid (brand names Renova and Retin-A) treats fine wrinkles, age spots, and rough skin caused by sun exposure. In a study published in the Journal of Dermatological Science, researchers found that treatment with retinoic acid restored the elastic fibers that keep skin taut, and reduced the appearance of wrinkles.
Retinoic acid comes in gel and cream forms, which are typically used once a day. Although dermatologists used to believe that retinoic acid made the skin more sensitive to the sun, they now know that it actually protects against further sun damage.
If you apply retinoic acid in too high of a concentration and too often, it can cause redness, extreme dryness, and peeling. Burke recommends starting with a low concentration (retinoic acid products range from 0.01% in gels to 0.1% in creams) and applying it once every second or third night to reverse photo damage more slowly.
Aripiprazole is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and irritability associated with autistic disorder). It may also be used in combination with other medication to treat depression. Aripiprazole is known as an antipsychotic drug (atypical type). It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural chemicals in the brain (neurotransmitters).
This medication can decrease hallucinations and improve your concentration. It helps you to think more clearly and positively about yourself, feel less nervous, and take a more active part in everyday life. Aripiprazole can treat severe mood swings and decrease how often mood swings occur.
How to use Abilify Oral?
Read the Medication Guide and, if available, the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start taking aripiprazole and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, age, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). To reduce your risk of side effects, your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
If you are using the liquid form of this medication, carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/cup. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.
If you are using the rapidly dissolving tablets, dry your hands before peeling back the foil on the blister pack to carefully remove a tablet. Do not push the tablet through the foil. The tablet is fragile and is not intended to be cut, split, or broken. Place each dose on the tongue, allow it to dissolve completely, then swallow it with saliva. Do not remove the tablet from the blister pack until just before taking. You do not need to take this medication with water.
Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase.
It may take several weeks to get the full benefit of this drug. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may worsen when this drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.
Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, excess saliva/drooling, blurred vision, weight gain, constipation, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fast/pounding heartbeat, fainting, mental/mood changes (such as increased anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts), trouble swallowing, restlessness, shaking (tremor), muscle spasm/stiffness, mask-like expression of the face, seizures, signs of infection (such as fever, persistent sore throat).
This medication may infrequently make your blood sugar level rise, which can cause or worsen diabetes. Rarely, very serious conditions such as diabetic coma may occur. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of high blood sugar, such as increased thirst and urination. If you already have diabetes, be sure to check your blood sugars regularly. Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication, exercise program, or diet.
This medication may rarely cause a condition called tardive dyskinesia. In some cases, this condition may be permanent. Tell your doctor right away if you develop any unusual uncontrolled movements (especially of the face, mouth, tongue, arms or legs).
This medication may rarely cause a serious condition called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS). Get medical help right away if you develop any of the following: fever, muscle stiffness/pain/tenderness/weakness, severe tiredness, severe confusion, sweating, fast/irregular heartbeat, dark urine, change in the amount of urine.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Vitamin C is one of the safest and most effective nutrients, experts say. It may not be the cure for the common cold (though it’s thought to help prevent more serious complications). But the benefits of vitamin C may include protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even skin wrinkling.
A recent study published in Seminars in Preventive and Alternative Medicine that looked at over 100 studies over 10 years revealed a growing list of benefits of vitamin C.
“Vitamin C has received a great deal of attention, and with good reason. Higher blood levels of vitamin C may be the ideal nutrition marker for overall health,” says study researcher Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, of the University of Michigan. “The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer.”
“But,” Moyad notes, “the ideal dosage may be higher than the recommended dietary allowance.”
Most of the studies Moyad and his colleagues examined used 500 daily milligrams of vitamin C to achieve health results. That’s much higher than the RDA of 75-90 milligrams a day for adults. So unless you can eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, you may need to take a dietary supplement of vitamin C to gain all the benefits, Moyad says. He suggests taking 500 milligrams a day, in addition to eating five servings of fruits and vegetables.
“It is just not practical for most people to consume the required servings of fruits and vegetables needed on a consistent basis, whereas taking a once-daily supplement is safe, effective, and easy to do,” Moyad says. He also notes that only 10% to 20% of adults get the recommended nine servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
Moyad says there is no real downside to taking a 500-milligram supplement, except that some types may irritate the stomach. That’s why he recommends taking a non-acidic, buffered form of the vitamin. “The safe upper limit for vitamin C is 2,000 milligrams a day, and there is a great track record with strong evidence that taking 500 milligrams daily is safe,” he says.
Still, American Dietetic Association spokeswoman Dee Sandquist, RD, suggests doing your best to work more fruits and vegetables into your diet before taking supplements.
“Strive to eat nine servings of fruits and vegetables daily, because you will get a healthy dose of vitamin C along with an abundance of other vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that are good for disease prevention and overall health,” she says.
While a cup of orange juice or a half-cup of red pepper would be enough to meet your RDA for Vitamin C, here are all the foods and beverages you’d need to consume to reach 500 milligrams (mg):

Many people want to increase their hair growth for various reasons. Whether you simply can’t wait to grow out of a horrible haircut or need help with problems such as hair loss or thinning, there are natural solutions that can help.
On this website I will try to answer all of your natural hair growth questions and give you some tips on how to keep your hair looking healthy all year round! While the main focus is on vitamins for hair growth, I will also cover topics such as hair oils and scalp massage treatments.
Vitamins are particularly useful for hair growth, and they do more than just regrow hair on a bald head. Vitamins can help increase the overall quality of one’s hair, something that is overlooked by far too many.
One of, if not the best vitamins for hair growth and thickness is Biotin. Also known as Vitamin B7, Biotin is a necessary vitamin as it aids the production of fatty acids, the growth of cells, and many other important roles involving amino acids and fats. Simply put, you need biotin.
Biotin even plays a role in the essential process known as gluconeogenesis. In addition to all of these essential uses of biotin, it can be extremely useful for strengthening nails and hair! Biotin is also known to dramatically increase the rate in which hair grows at. This results in thicker, stronger hair, which nearly everyone in the world could use, and much sooner. In short, Biotin is great for:
Sources of Biotin
Biotin can be found in various foods and hair products, although some studies have shown that if the biotin is applied topically to the hair, it may not be as effective as biotin that is ingested directly, which is great, since it is a vitamin, and can be purchased for an affordable price.
For stronger, thicker, and faster growing hair, the recommended daily dosage of biotin is between 5000mcg (micrograms), to 7500 micrograms.
While you are most likely already consuming some biotin from your diet, we recommend starting out at the lower end of this range, as should be done when introducing any new vitamin or supplement into your body, so 5000mcg would be a good starting point for one wishing to increase the speed that their new thicker hair will grow at.
After a month or so, if the results are not satisfactory, you can bump it up to 7500 micrograms of biotin daily. The results will not be instantaneous, but within a few months you should definitely see noticeable results with regards to hair growth and thickness, as biotin is one of the best vitamins for this. It is important to note that no such treatment, even when using all natural products, should be undertaken without first consulting a doctor or a nutritionist.
