Try To Figure This One Out

A king’s princess wanted to get married to smart man to rule the kingdom. The king called on the three smartest men in his kingdom to come forth. “I’m going to put either a red or a white dot on each of you foreheads when your eyes are closed.” said the king. The men closed their eyes, and the king put a red dot on each of there foreheads. They could see eachothers but not their own. When the men opened their eyes the king said “If you see red raise your hand. All three men raised their hands. “If one of you can tell me what color of dot you’ve got on your forehead please stand up. There will be no talking.” One man stood up, waited a minute, and said “I’ve got a red dot on my head.” How did he know what colour dot was on his forehead.

Answer :

If he had a white dot on his forehead. the other two would’ve stood up immediately because the other one had stuck up his hand. If the man standing up had white, the other man must have seen red on him.

The Power of the Sub-Conscious Mind by Joseph Murray

Technically speaking, each of us only has one mind. But this one mind has 3 parts to it: conscious mind, subconscious mind and superconscious mind. The first two minds are within us, but the superconscious mind is without. It is the mind of our extended self. I am now reading the Power of the Sub-Conscious mind for the second time. I cannot get enough of this book. It resonates with everything I believe as to why we exist and how our thoughts completely create the life we choose no matter what.

If I am having a bad day, I will go home, flip open this book, and I will always find my answer. I know from reading this book that there is nothing that will get past your conscious mind beliefs until you so convince that part of your mind to make it true. Remember, the conscious mind is the king, if he doesn’t believe it, you have to work on it by producing a better thought, or repeating your affirmation of choice. For example, if you say to yourself, “I am rich,” your conscious will not believe that, he knows better, so you have to change that statement to something it will believe, like, “my wealth is increasing every day.” That is a more believable statement to your conscious, once that is done, your subconscious takes over and works on making things happen in your everyday life. You will notice ideas coming to you that will help increase your wealth, like another job, a potential home business either by yourself or a friend may call you out of the blue with a great opportunity in the form of a partnership. You will find yourself at times saying, “I was just thinking about that,” well, there is a reason for that, you thought it and things started to happen because of that focus on a particular thought. There is no such thing as a coincidence, it happened for a reason. Pay attention to your thoughts, watch how they go all over the place, try to control them when they get like that, and just think about what you really want because you can have it. The mind is a powerful place and that is how everything in this world became to be, it all starts with a thought that becomes stronger and then action follows that thought because your desire becomes that strong to allow it to manifest.

The most important conscious mind power is the power to decide. It has the power to decide what information to enter into your subconscious mind, but most people are not exercising this power. Instead, they let rubbish enters their subconscious mind and thus garbage in, garbage out.  The power of our thoughts is so very interesting to me and I strongly encourage everyone to pick up a copy of this book, leave it by your night stand and read a little every night. This book will lift your spirits in every respect, I promise.

Bedroom Decor

A master bedroom has a special room in any home, whether big or small. It’s a retreat, a center of activity, or a personal space not to be invaded. Choose wonderful color for your master bedroom and it will become the room of your dreams.

Because the master bedroom is such a personal area, you are absolutely free to express your own sense of style, color, comfort, and light. Choose from a wide range of color schemes and decorating styles, and make it your own.

Architectural elements and focal points in salvage style are fast gaining popularity in bedroom Decor for adding class, distinction and sophistication to the room without going over budget. Grecian urns filled with yarn balls look fantastic and quite interesting and need not cost a fortune too. Here are some tips to lend your bedroom a touch of uniqueness and originality within our budget:
  • Add architectural elements to your bedroom to give it a lavish look such as a fireplace mantel.

  • Always look out for opportunities to turn your trash and junk into treasure. Old glassware can be used as candleholders, antique cups can be used as votives and blankets can be used as vintage pillows.

  • An illustrious wall hanging can take place of a headboard for your bed.

  • Feel free to use items in different ways other than their traditional uses for the customized touch.

  • Hanging old baskets in the nooks and corners of your bedroom will add style to your bedroom and makes creative space for keeping your magazines and personal care accessories.

  • Ornate birdbaths from someone’s fountain can easily be turned into a nightstand or a table centerpiece.

  • Salvage antique window frames can be turned into artistic mirror frames.

  • Search for some of the most advantageous deals in thrift shops, garage sales and yard sales where you can find home accessories, fabrics, sofa sets and even dinner sets and exquisite items in salvage shops that can be terracotta tiles, ornate wrought iron fences, old pillars and claw foot bath tubs that can make your home look like a heritage property.

  • Select a theme for your bedroom and only accommodate items that go well with the theme.

  • Turn vintage clothing or decorative tablecloths into decorative pillow covers.

  • Wrought iron posts and fences can be used as curtain rods.

Using a Chlorine Tablet Before Swimming

This is the everlasting debate between swimming pool owners of the world. Which is better – to use a chlorine tablet or granulate dust? Sanitation and hygiene are the most important factors of maintaining a swimming pool. These are the most important factors for a crystal clear pool.  Chlorine is used in swimming pools to kill bacteria, prevent algae growth and maintain a level pH that is safe for swimmers. Chlorine tablets dissolve slowly into the water and provide and easy maintenance task for pool owners. There is no chlorine to mix, just add a tablet to the water as needed. Chlorine tablets can be one of the most economical ways to keep your pool usable.

Chlorination of a swimming pool can be done in different ways. You can use granulated chlorine or tablets, you can use an auto chlorinator which uses salt to produce chlorine or you can use electrolysis. The point of the matter is that chlorine is necessary for the process. Chlorine tablets are also used to whiten clothes. Teenagers and young adults will take a small piece of tablet and grind it to dust. After this they mix it with some water and make designs with it on jeans or other colored fabrics. In a few minutes you will see the color disappear like magic as the chlorine washes the dye away.

Use a tablet dispenser to shock your pool with chlorine tablets. If you put the tablets directly into the pool, can you risk discoloration and corrosion of the skimmer and heating elements. Tablet dispensers allow the chlorine to dissolve without damaging any aspect of your pool. A perfect pool does not only depend on chemicals though. It has to be cleaned and vacuumed at least once a week. Dust settles on the bottom and it is necessary to eliminate it. When you do not do it for a while you finally get to see the dirt just setting there under your clear water. Automatic robots are available in the market today that vacuum the bottom constantly twenty four hours per day.

If you do not want to have to remember the tablet every week, you may buy an automatic dispenser for it. They are plastic applicators that are full of tablets and they float around in the pool. Most of them will hold five to six tablets which means you can forget about the pool at least one month. Try them and see how it easy and comfortable it is to use them. Test the pool water on a weekly basis. Chlorine should usually stay at a one to three parts per million (ppm) reading. Frequent readings will help you adjust your maintenance routine.

These floating devices are made with different shapes and they are nice to watch floating around the pool. They are also children safe. Your children can not open them to get at the tablets inside. They will only be in contact with the diluted chlorine in the water. No harm done to them at all and you will be able to enjoy the pool instead of working on it all the time.

Leukemia – Herbal Remedies For Leukemia – How Can They Help?

What is Leukemia?

Leukemia is cancer that starts in the tissue that forms blood. The blood disorder known as leukemia is a very commonly occurring form of cancer that predominantly affects young adults and many children across the world.

What are the types of Leukemia?

Most blood cells develop from cells in the bone marrow called stem cells. Bone marrow is the soft material in the center of most bones.

Leukemia is classified into four major types and these are:

  1. Acute lymphocytic leukemia or ALL,
  2. Acute myeloid leukemia or AML,
  3. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia or CLL, and
  4. Chronic myeloid leukemia or CML.

Acute leukamias generally appear suddenly and affect the person abruptly without warning, thus this term acute is applied to all such cases of leukemia. Moreover such leukamias are characterized by the production of a very large number of immature and undifferentiated cells, this production of cells can go haywire and if the condition is left untreated, the death of the patient can be the end result-such acute cases are very rapid in their appearance of symptoms and in their effects. Leukamias that develop over a long period of time come under the term chronic, the growth of the disorder is much slower and the symptoms are less dramatically felt, individuals affected by this form of leukamias can thus expect to lead much longer lives, even without any treatment. These two terms acute and chronic are broad generalizations and it is necessary to treat them as such, the effects of leukemia may differ from one person to another and treatment will need to be tailored to individual needs and symptoms.

Cause of Leukemia

The exact cause of leukemia still remains a mystery. Experts cannot explain why this disease sprouts in random people. However, due to intensive studies, they have found some factors that may put you at risk of leukemia. Here are some of them:

1. Exposure to high level radiation

Those people who are regularly exposed to a high level of radiation have a high chance of developing leukemia.

2. Exposure to certain chemicals

Exposure to chemicals, such as Benzene can put you at a risk of developing leukemia. Another chemical that may cause considerable damage to your cells is formaldehyde.

3. Chemotherapy

This might seem crazy since chemotherapy is used to treat cancer patients. However, there are some studies conducted that people fighting from a different type of cancer can later develop leukemia because of their frequent chemotherapy sessions.

4. Down Syndrome

People with Down syndrome have a higher risk of developing leukemia because of their abnormal chromosomes.

Herbal Treatment of Leukemia

The first line of treatment that people with Leukemia would most likely utilize is chemotherapy. However, chemotherapy can also assault your immune system and can leave you defenseless against other viral infections and other complications.

Patients undergoing chemotherapy are all physically spent after every session. Chemotherapy also causes these patients to lose hair. This is why many have also turned to herbal remedies for leukemia.

These herbal remedies for leukemia have helped many a number of leukemia sufferers:

1. The nutrients found in garlic can protect our body from infections. Since chemotherapy can lower your immune system, Garlic can aid that problem.

2. You can also concoct an herbal tea out of stinging nettle, elder blossoms, brooklime herb and dandelion to help your body gain back its strength and normalize its primary functions.

It is also important for a leukemia sufferer to have a balanced diet and regular exercise to support their body in the fight against cancer cells.

Along with these, they can also take an herbal remedy that can help promote healthier cells. A product called Bio-Oxidate Defense can help a lot.

This product can support healthy cells in our body and can help the body fight the effects of bad cells. Bio-Oxidate Defense can also up your immune system so you will not be defenseless against other diseases.

This product is 100% safe to use because it uses natural herbal ingredients such as Green Tea, Rooibos and Grape seed extract which are a very helpful combination in supporting the body and help healthy cell growth.

When it comes to the battle against Leukemia, every help is needed. Herbal remedies for leukemia and a product like Bio-Oxidate Defense is just what you need to help you in this fight.

Tom Cruise gives a great Esquire interview – is he medicated now?

Tom Cruise – This is Tom Cruise on the June issue of Esquire. Esquire is calling this issues the “How To Be a Man” issue, although I think the piece is actually called “The Making (and Remaking) of Tom Cruise”. I kind of have to hand it to Tom – he’s always really great at selling whatever movie he has, and we can expect to see even more of him as he promotes Knight and Day, that action-comedy he’s got with Cameron Diaz. Esquire hasn’t put up the whole interview, but they did the motherload of interview excerpts online, and it looks like Tom isn’t holding back at all. He talks about the Oprah couch jumping, his father (who abandoned his family when he was very young), Katie Holmes, his kids, and throughout it all, Tom uses what I’m guessing is a lot of Scientology-speak. True, the word “thetan” doesn’t cross his lips, but there are moments where I was like “Oh, I bet that has something to do with Xenu.” Tom actually sounds so good here, I’m wondering if he’s being medicated, which is something I mentioned when he was on Oprah a few weeks ago.

On His Father: “I remember looking at my dad and wanting to understand him. I didn’t want to just write the guy off. He was lost. I can’t speak specifically in terms of why and how he got to where he was — that was his journey. All I can tell you is, he was overwhelmed by life… My mother basically did all the work, and then they got separated and I didn’t see him for a long time. He didn’t try to help the family financially or spiritually, and I lived with the effects of the chaos.”

On the Value of Family: “You hear about people who have lifelong friends. I never was in a place long enough to have them. So that role was filled by my family. If anyone was teasing my sisters, I really felt it… I’d create different characters and ad-lib sketches to make my sisters and my mother feel better. I’d try to make them laugh. I’d do Donald Duck as John Wayne. I’d watch Soul Train and imitate the dancers. I guess you can say that’s where it started. I always had a dream to be in movies, [my family] didn’t say, That’s impossible. They laughed.”

On Knowledge: “Now, I’d ridden bikes a lot. When I was a kid, I’d set up ramps for jumps, like Evel Knievel, and crash all the time. I’d done it all — but never on a minibike. I got on. Of course, all I wanted to do was go fast, so I hit the throttle. I started off by a neighbor’s yard, went past our yard, which had a little hump, and suddenly I was airborne… Rrrrrrrrrrr! The minibike is still going. Oh, no, I’m alive… Okay, I’m alive. The minibike was wedged between the bumpers of the two cars. What a lesson: Know before you go. [You don't] have to curb your enthusiasm. Just fill it in with a little knowledge.”

On His Big Break: “The audition [for Taps] was in New York. I said one line. That was it. I had long hair at the time, so they said, ‘Hold up your hair.’ Then ‘Thank you.’ I don’t know why, but… I thought I’d get it. It wasn’t arrogance. I had a quarter in my pocket — and that was it. I’m telling you: I didn’t have bus fare to get back to where my mom was living in Jersey. I remember… standing outside the Holland Tunnel, and hitchhiking. I walked up the driveway and saw my mother. It was a distance, but I remember her face. She looked at me and I looked at her, and I thought, I got it.”

On Forgiving His Father: “Risky Business had become a hit. I hadn’t seen my father in about ten years. I found out he was dying, and I went to see him in the hospital. He knew that he’d blown it. There was deep regret. I think he was torturing himself. We tend to do that. All I could do was tell him, ‘Look, it’s okay.’ I wasn’t going to live in blame and regret. I wanted to understand what happened. I wanted to understand, so I could answer the question, What can I do to make things better? I looked at my father there dying and thought, How can I not be that guy?”

On the Joy of Work: “We shot [A Few Good Men] in one go. You could sense how it was going to be edited — like butter. At a certain point it goes beyond work, which is when it’s fun. All I can tell you is, I remember being sad afterward that it was over.”

On Being a Father: “I’ll never forget the moment I became a dad. But it’s hard to describe — that level of responsibility, the desire to give such joy. The clarity: Nothing is more important than this. I remember that first night, just staring at Bella. I was checking her every second, just looking at her, feeling that immediate bond. I was probably looking at her so much that I was keeping her up. I made a promise to her: All I can do is the best I can. But I’m not going to say I’m gonna do something and then not do it.”

On Humanity: “I got to talk to an astronaut and I asked him, ‘What’s it like going out into space and looking back at the world?’ He said that it changed his perspective. Looking back at the world, you think, My God, how small it is. What are we doing? We don’t need barriers and borders. But I already understood that. I understood it going from Canada to Kentucky.”

On the Oprah Interview: “What happened, happened… I wanted the audience to be happy just like I wanted to make my sisters and my mother happy when I did those skits as a kid. But I’ll take responsibility for my actions… Afterward, wild things were being said about me, and once they’re in the ether, there’s nothing you can do about it. It felt like being the new kid in the schoolyard again and the other kids are whispering and whispering about you and suddenly you hear what they’re saying, and you think, What? That didn’t happen. Look at the reality of the situation.”

On the Oprah Fallout: “There was a confluence of events. My deal with Paramount was up and it wasn’t extended. At first it was, Huh? I don’t get it. But people have misconceptions about that whole thing, too. Sumner Redstone and I are friends. It’s a business.”

On Katie Holmes: “Because we do live in a cynical world. It’s easy to be cynical. Making the choice not to be cynical is important. You can keep dwelling on what didn’t work, or you can figure out how to fix it. Which is what being a parent is all about. You know, I’m married to such a special woman. Every night before we go to sleep, Kate and I look at each other and it’s like, How’d we do today?”

On Success: “Those are times you learn a lot about life. You’re back to, How do I figure this out? I’d lived through so many different periods in life that I had a good idea. You just get back to work. You move forward. That’s what I did. Here we are today. Mission: Impossible IV.”

On Suri: “It’s come full circle. Now I’ll put Suri on a swing and tell her stories when I’m working on a script. I’ll start with the beginning of the movie and take her through the story beat by beat. Of course, I make it age-appropriate. She’s four years old. But she asks all the right questions: Why does that happen? Those are the bad guys? You’re the good guy, right?”

On Teaching His Children Well: “It comes down to the same thing as when I was a kid. Can I create a character that will make her happy, that will make her laugh? And you know what? She makes me get better and better, because she’s always asking me to do it again.”

How to Upload a Website to a Web Host

After you have built your website, There are two ways to upload your web site files to hosting server – using a File Manager or File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The first method is easier but time-consuming while the second is a faster method but needs a little technical knowledge.

Using the File Manager to upload Website files to a web hosting server

This method is applicable only if a File Manager (or similar) utility has been provided by your hosting company. The utility is generally located under the Control Panel of your account and so you need to login first. For instance, at my hosting accounts, the File Manager is displayed as an icon along with other utilities in the control panel. The File Manager icon looks like one above.

To use the File Manager, click on its icon. A new window opens and displays the directories at your web hosting account. [Refer image below]

You need to upload all website files to the document root directory which is www or public_html in the image above. Thus, all your website files need to reside in the document root directory.
If you click on the directory name, you get a set of links displayed on the top-right that let you delete, rename, change permission etc. for this directory. [Refer image below]

To view the contents of a directory, you would need to click on the small folder image located in front of the directory name. If I click on the document root directory on my web host, it displays its contents as in the image below.

To upload website files, click on the Upload Files link (refer the above image). This should open a form through which you can select files from your system and upload them on your web hosting server. (Refer image below)

Using FTP to upload website files on your web hosting server

Though, the online File Manager can let you upload multiples file, it is not a good option if you plan to do this for a living (ask web developers and they will tell you). Also, the File Manager does not keep track of which files were uploaded and which were in queue in case you lose the net connection.

What you need is a special service to maintain files on your web site. The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is just that. FTP is an Internet Protocol quite like HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) which you would be familiar with. Using FTP you can quickly and easily manage the files on your web hosting server and the best way to do that is through FTP programs also known as FTP clients.

Sara Khan’s hairline fracture

Sara Khan, the protagonist of Star Plus’ Bidaai is nursing a broken left elbow, after she had a fall while shooting for a dance sequence with Angad Hasija.

Yesterday at Maheshwari house, there was a video shoot happening for STAR Parivar Awards and for that, a romantic dance sequence of Alekh- Sadhana was happening.Angad had to lift Sara Khan and the dance rehearsals were going fine but during the final take while lifting Sara Khan, Angad lost his balance and Sara Khan fell down on the ground and in that she severely injured her elbow and she was immediately taken to the doctor and her part was stopped and later we got to know that she had a hairline fracture.

We spoke to Sara Khan aka Sadhana about the injury who said, “I am shooting for Bidaai, which I really can’t avoid. I am not well as I am in pain.”

Later on we tried to get in touch with Angad Hasija who said, “I am feeling sorry for her and I am hoping that she will be fine soon.”

We Wish Sara as well as you get well soon!!

Rashami Desai’s health woes

The performances are getting tougher and jaw-dropping as the competition gets fiercer. And it seems the tension and ever rising competition has already started having its affect on the contestants. After Sushant Singh Rajput and Karan Kundra the latest celebrity to suffer health woes is Rashami Desai. The actress was seriously ill during her solo performance which will be aired this weekend. So bad was her condition that she will be seen leaving the stage just after her performance. But her bad health didn’t hamper her spirit of competition as she performed her act completely.

Informs a source, “Rashami’s blood pressure plummeted so much so, that she could barely stand. She performed on Barso Re Megha from Guru. She had apparently incorporated her own steps thus improvising in the final act right on the stage. Judges however felt that Rashami is a fabulous dancer but her choice of song has gone wrong. She was feeling so weak that she was made to sit on a chair on the stage and left immediately after having heard the judges’ comments.”

We tried contacting Rashami but she was busy in her shoot.

Anupam Kher will be seen with Shahid in Mausam

Anupam Kher will be seen with Shahid Kapoor in Mausam. Kher has been asked to join the unit in Edinburgh.

Says the busy actor, “I’m yet to get a clear indication of my role. But the fact that Pankaj is directing is enough incentive for me. I’m very fond of him as an actor and as a humanbeing. And I also like his son Shahid a lot.In fact in his brief career I’ve played Shahid’s father thrice (in Sooraj Barjataya’s Vivah, Dil Bole Hadippa and Badmash Company).”

This time, though, Anupam isn’t playing Shahid’s father. It is apparently the role that Pankaj Kapoor had earmarked for himself. Now with direction proving a full-time occupation Pankaj would rather concentrate on direction and let others do the acting.

However the dates for Mausam are still being worked out. Anupam now flies out to the Lake District in England for a walk-on talkathon on the BBC’s prestigious business talk show Peschartdt’s People.

The internationally-known host Michael Peschardt is known to grill the world’s most authoritative entertainers and academicians including, from India, N. Narayana Murthy, Vijay Mallya and Amitabh Bachchan.

Says Anupam, “I like representing our country on international platforms. Specially on a non-film platform. I think I’ve moved ahead of being just an actor.”

Considering the response to it, does Anupam feel a sense of relief for opting out of Gurinder Chadha’s It’s a Wonderful Afterlife when his wife was offered what he thought was an insubstantial role?

Retorts Anupam, “Not at all. Gurinder gave me my first major international break in Bend It Like Beckham. How can I forget that? Our relationship goes far beyond one film. I’m sure we’ll be working together again shortly.”

Aishwariya Rai threatened by Bipasha?

Aishwarya Rai is  one of the most talented and Gorgeous actresses in the world. She has been voted so far too many times to be counted. Bipasha Basu may not be a global face yet, but she is competent enough.

Rumour has it that Aishwariya Rai and Priya Mani, who are both an integral part of the movie, were threatened by Bipasha, who plays the role of ‘Mandodhari’ in the film, and so most of her part in the movie has been edited.

The official reason given was that her role had taken up most of the space in the movie. The Bong Bombshell, obviously ’saddened’ by the sudden move, remains an optimist and maintains that she is still excited for the release of the movie.

The movie directed by the ingenius Mani Ratnam, under his production house Madras Talkies, also stars AB’s Baby Abhishek Bachchan, Kollywood actor Vikram, Govinda a.k.a Chi Chi, Ajay Gehi, Tejaswani Kolhapure and Suhasini Mani Ratnam.
